If it is regular times, sports news outlets will be tackling news about golf, soccer games, baseball schedules, and track meet. However, Missouri sports is postponed for an indefinite time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Missouri State High School Activities Association hasn’t announced when its season will resume. However, they said that they would not cancel spring sports tournaments. Schools will remain closed until April 6, after Governor Mike Parson’s order of a statewide social distancing action to stop the virus from spreading.
Cody Leonard, athletic director of Monroe City, told sports betting solutions news reporters that April 6 is the tentative date for the reopening of schools. However, state authorities will still consider whether it is safe for kids to return to school next week.
Missouri Sports in Limbo
If there’s more time required to stay at home, the school might not restart on April 6. Brian Wosman, athletic director of Palmyra, told online bookie software news outlets that he doesn’t know what will happen in the coming days.
The athletic association told him that season would resume when schools reopen. However, they don’t know the exact date when schools will be back in session. Pay Per Head King sources said that coaches and student-athletes hope there will be some type of season soon.
Another issue that cropped up is that school shutdowns differ by district. Some Missouri schools might remain close after April 6. For instance, Hannibal High School will remain closed until April 14. The custodial and maintenance departments of the school will sanitize all facilities before the restart of schools.
Mark Twain will reopen on April 15. However, it is still a tentative date, and the reopening time will depend on the coronavirus situation in the state. Although the MSHSAA didn’t cancel spring sports competition, schools can’t resume sports activities until authorities allowed them to do so.
