FIFA suspended Spain soccer chief Luis Rubiales after he kissed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso on the lips after the team won the Women’s World Cup. Also, FIFA suspended Rubiales from soccer-related activities at international and national levels.
According to soccer and basketball betting sources, the suspension will last 90 days. Also, FIFA started disciplinary proceedings. The latest incident tainted Spain’s World Cup win.
Despite condemnation from Hermoso, colleagues, and the Spanish government, Rubiales insists the kiss was consensual. Also, he refused to resign over the event.
Spain Soccer Chief Suspended
Hermoso said the kiss was unwelcome. According to pay per head bookie reports, she and the rest of the World Cup champions have vowed not to play again if Rubiales is in power. Unfortunately, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) threatened to sue Hermoso and others if they did not play for the country. The RFEF continues to support the soccer chief.
