Pop star Taylor Swift remains Kansas City’s lucky charm as Travis Kelce led the Chiefs to a victory against Denver Thursday Night. It is the third time Switch has watched the game in person this year. Also, the team did not lose while she was in the venue.
According to 9DollarPerHead.com sources, tight end Kelce led the Chiefs. The team initially classified Kelce as doubtful due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings. In the NFL this season, the 34-year-old tight end recorded the highest receiving yards with 124 (100 of which came in the first half alone).
Kelce continued his pattern of miraculously finding openings by repeatedly beating the Broncos’ zone coverage in the middle of the field.
Travis Kelce Led the Chiefs to Victory
There has been much speculation that Kelce and Swift were dating when she showed up to see him play weeks after he said he botched handing the pop diva his phone number. Neither Kelce nor Swift have officially commented on their friendship.
Mahomes, the league’s current MVP, performed spectacularly in the night’s main game. According to bookie pay per head reports, he completed 30% of his passes for 306 yards, with 1 TD to Kadarius Toney and 1 INT.
Despite the scoreboard, it was not the Chiefs’ most impressive victory. Their high-powered attack was sputtering, especially on the goal line (where Mahomes was intercepted by Bronco’s cornerback Justin Simmons) as they had to settle for field goals on four separate occasions. However, Harrison Butker came through in clutch situations, making all four field goal attempts (one from 60 yards out). Mahomes and Andy Reid, who lamented his team’s offensive struggles, credited the defense for the victory.
The Broncos continued their losing streak with a 1-5 performance on defense and offense.
