The State Lottery reported an increase in Oregon sports betting revenue and handle year over year in April. Also, the gross gaming revenue was $3.8 million, which was 40.7 percent higher than the $2.7 million from April 2021. In addition, it was a 5.6 percent increase from $3.6 million in March.
As far as the handle, players bet an aggregate of $42.9 million on sports wagering during the month, an increment of 69.6 percent from April 2021 and 18.5 percent from $36.2 million in March 2022.
According to pay per head bookie sources, DraftKings has a partnership deal with the Lottery. In April, it produced $3.8 million in income from $42.9 million in total player wagers.
Oregon Sports Betting Revenue Up
Conversely, the Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard online sportsbook took $39,297 in bets and posted a $3,220 misfortune for the month. The Lottery will phase out Scoreboard and replace it with DraftKings. However, it will still payout wagers made before the phaseout. There’s no way to open a bookie business in the state except by partnering with the Lottery.
The most popular sport to wager on was Basketball, drawing $22.1 million in bets on DraftKings and $32,995 with Scoreboard.
According to sportsbook pay per head experts, baseball was in second place with $7.8 million in bets on DraftKings and $108 on Scoreboard. In third place was soccer, with $3.7 million with DraftKings and $259 on Scoreboard.
Regarding the kind of wagers players were putting in April, $31.3 million of the total bets set with DraftKings were singles and mysteries, while the excess $11.6 million bets were parlay wagers.
This wagering design was comparable on Scoreboard, with $38,548 worth of single and secret wagers, while only $759 of bets were parlay wagers.
