World Athletics president Seb Coe said he is confident about a safe Tokyo Olympics. His statement came as many people called for the cancellation of the Summer Games. At present, Japan is suffering from the fourth wave of COVID-19 infections.
Tokyo and other prefectures are under a state of emergency that would end until the end of this month. Thus, there’s an ongoing petition to cancel the Tokyo Olympics. It got thousands of signatures. Also, Rakuten CEO described the plans to host the Olympics as a suicide mission.
