Mike Hollins, a running back at the University of Virginia, scored a touchdown during a spring game. Five months after he suffered a gunshot wound during a shooting that resulted in three deaths.
After he scored the touchdown, Hollins pointed to the sky and placed the ball over one of his teammates’ names painted at the endzone. According to sportsbook PPH sources, the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Also, Hollins had eleven carries for 40 yards in the first half.
It was the first game for the UVA football squad since Devin Chandler, D’Sean Perry, and Lavel Davis Jr died during a shooting incident on a bus in November. They were returning from a class field trip.

According to pay per head bookie sources, Hollins was one of the two injured during the shooting. He was intubated and treated in the intensive care section of the hospital.
University of Virginia head coach Tony Elliott noted in November that the team had lost a “big piece of its heart” with Chandler, Davis Jr., and Perry’s deaths. He continued by saying that Chandler was the light of the party. Also, Davis was the big man on campus. Lastly, Perry was the quiet person everyone wanted to know about.
When asked about his return to practice in March, Hollins described it as a “miracle.” He added that he had pondered leaving the school for a fresh start. However, he ultimately opted to stay.
After being shot and hospitalized for many days, the running back eventually discovered that several of his friends had died.
According to pay per head services experts, authorities have charged Christopher Darnell Jones Jr with three counts of using a weapon in the commission of a felony and three counts of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting at the university. He was a former UVA walk-on football player. In addition, Jones has been charged with two charges of attempted murder and two counts of attempted murder using a handgun. On November 16, Jones made his initial court appearance. Also, the judge ruled that he should be detained without bond.
