The Ohio Casino Control Commission recently approved twelve online sportsbook operators. Also, bookie pay per head providers expect Ohio sports betting regulators to give out more licenses before the market launches.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission approved the recent batch of licenses for mobile management service providers on Wednesday. Thus, those licensed businesses can operate online sports betting sites on behalf of their partners.

According to bookie pay per head reports, the commission granted provisional approvals for five-year mobile management services provider licenses to BetMGM, Tipico, DraftKings, BetRivers, and Hard Rock Sportsbook. In addition, the commission approved BetMGM, Tipico, BetRivers, and Hard Rock for licenses as retail sports betting operators.

According to PPH bookie sources, the sports betting law in Ohio initially permits the awarding of up to 25 online sports betting licenses to businesses. They include casinos and professional sports clubs. In addition, organizations can partner with a maximum of two mobile management service providers, including BetMGM and BetRivers.

More than a thousand companies in Ohio might host kiosks for lottery-related sports betting. In addition, the state has 40 proprietor licenses available for brick-and-mortar sportsbooks.

The Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati, Miami Valley Gaming and Racing, and HOF Village Newco LLC received approval for retail and online proprietor licenses on Wednesday. Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati is, predictably, paired with Hard Rock Sportsbook for retail and mobile gambling.

Gambling news reports stated Miami Valley partnered with Gamewise LLC provide mobile sports betting on its behalf. Gamewise runs the online sportsbook Betly.

The company that owns the professional football-related Hall of Fame Village in Canton is called Hall of Fame Resort and Entertainment Co. For mobile wagering, HOF Village proposes a partnership with micro-betting startup Betr. Also, it has a deal with BetRivers to run its retail sportsbook.

However, the new license holders won’t be able to accept wagers until at least January 1.
